Sumanth Polikepahad, D.V.M., Ph.D., "Dr. Poli" - Veterinarian
VCare Animal Clinic (VAC) is the realization of Dr. Poli’s lifelong dream to provide exceptional veterinary care to the cherished pets of Cypress and Katy.
Dr. Poli’s journey in veterinary medicine began in India, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH). Driven by a passion for learning, he later immigrated to the United States to pursue advanced education, completing a Ph.D. in Veterinary Medical Sciences at Louisiana State University.
He went on to refine his expertise in the basic sciences at Baylor College of Medicine, while also gaining extensive hands-on clinical experience through multiple externships and internships at renowned institutions, including The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition, he volunteered at several small animal clinics in the Houston and Missouri City areas, deepening his practical knowledge of small animal medicine.
After successfully completing a rigorous licensing process and earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, Dr. Poli worked at a Banfield Pet Hospital before founding VCare Animal Clinic—an independent practice where he could integrate his academic training, clinical experience, and compassionate philosophy of care.
Known for his dedication, thoroughness, and empathy, Dr. Poli takes pride in offering individualized attention and high-quality medical care to every patient he sees.
Outside of his veterinary practice, Dr. Poli enjoys reading philosophy and non-fiction, playing chess, and spending quality time with his family.
